DJ DAVID MEDINA
David Medina, the son of Spanish-speaking Dominican parents, was raised in the
Williamsburg section of Brooklyn long before it became a haven for the
bohemian, the artsy and the upwardly mobile. Hardly a stereotypical second
generation Latino, from early on Medina’s taste in music ranged from punk rock
to salsa and his sensitivity for quality and culture vs. mainstream was always his
trademark. He began deejaying while working toward a BFA at Alfred University,
finding two creative outlets that would continue to play a major role in his life –
music and sculpture.
